BTEC Higher National Diploma in Civil Engineering programme is aimed at those who wish to enter civil engineering profession as an engineering technician or further pursue their studies at tertiary level. It develops many of the skills required by today’s industries. Students become not only technically competent but also proficient problem solvers and team workers. The subjects at the early stage of the programme give students grounding in engineering, science, and health and safety management.

The subjects become more specialized at later stages to allow students to gain skills necessary for the design and construction of civil engineering structures. Many of the civil engineering components take the form of integrated projects where teams of students participate in the schemes through inception feasibility studies and design.

Main Intakes
The main intakes are conducted in December (Short semester), March (Long semester) and July (Long semester) of each year.

Entry Requirements

Any one of the following qualifications:

  1. Pass STPM / GCE ‘A’ Levels with 1 relevant principal, including Mathematics or ONE (1) Science subject:
    a) Mathematics S
    b) Mathematics T
    c) Further Mathematics
    d) Physics

    with a pass in Mathematics, English and ONE (1) relevant Science / Technical / Vocational subject at SPM level;

  2. Pass relevant Foundation / Matriculation programme from institutions recognized by Malaysian Government*;
  3. Pass relevant Certificate in Engineering / Engineering Technology / Vocational / Technical / Skills from Polytechnics recognized by Malaysia Government with ONE (1) year of relevant work experience or ONE (1) semester of a Bridging Programme*;
  4. Other equivalent qualifications recognized by Malaysian Government*;

English Language Requirements (For international students only)
All international students from a country in which English is not used as the medium of instruction in formal education are required to meet the following English language requirements:

  1. Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): minimum score of 550 (PBT) or 213 (CBT) or 79 – 80 (iBT)
  2. International English Language Testing System (IELTS): minimum overall Band 6.
  3. Malaysian University English Test (MUET) : minimum Band 6.

The test must be taken no more than two years before the start of your studies at Legenda.
