The aim of this programme is to provide students with theoretical knowledge, principles of software engineering and its applications, advanced practical skills and experience to develop such abilities that would make them competent to support ever-changing software engineering industry needs.

The programme is designed for individuals wishing to pursue careers as software engineering professionals. Students employ the latest technologies inclusive of programming languages, operating systems, databases, and networking concepts. Students are involved in learning and experiencing a wide range of software systems with sound theoretical understanding and in-depth practical skills of all stages in software engineering processes such as analyzing, designing, coding, modifying, testing and implementing.

Entry Requirements

Any one of the following qualifications:

  1. Pass STPM/CGE ‘A’ Level with 2 principals or with minimum Grade C (CGPA ≥ 2.0) and credit in Mathematics or other equivalents;
  2. Pass relevant Matriculation programme from institutions recognized by Malaysian Government with CGPA ≥ 2.0 and credit in Mathematics in SPM or other equivalents*;
  3. Pass Foundation programme from Kolej Universiti Linton or other institutions recognized by Malaysia Government with CGPA ≥ 2.0 and credit in Mathematics in SPM or other equivalents*;
  4. Pass relevant Diploma or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Information Technology (Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Network and Computer Engineering) programme institutions recognized by Malaysia Government with CGPA ≥ 2.5*;
    *Candidates with CGPA between 2.00 – 2.49 can also consider based on aptitude test by the Kolej Universiti
  5. Pass SMIIII (UEC) with minimum 5Bs including Mathematics*;
  6. Other equivalent qualification recognised by Malaysian Government*;

English Language Requirements

  1. International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with minimum overall Band 6; or
  2. Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with minimum score of 550; or
  3. Cambrige or Edexcel GCE ‘A’ Level; or
  4. Equivalent intensive English course conducted by Kolej Universiti Linton.
