BTEC Higher National Diploma in Software Engineering

BTEC HND in Software Engineering course is specifically geared towards the requirements of today’s IT specialists and covers the traditional topics of databases and spreadsheet as well as the development of applications for the World Wide Web. It enables students to tailor their course in a programming, applications or business setting.

Although the programme is vocational with strong practical emphasis, underpinning theory and principles are also covered so that students can stay abreast and understand the ever changing world of IT.

The main intakes are conducted in December (Short semester), March (Long semester) and July (Long semester) of each year.

Entry Requirements

Any one of the following qualifications:

  1. Pass STPM / GCE ‘A’ Levels with 1 relevant principal, including any of the following subject:
    a) Computing
    b) Mathematics S
    c) Mathematics T;

    AND credit in Mathematics at SPM level;

  2. Pass relevant Foundation programme from institutions recognized by Malaysian Government*;
  3. Pass Matriculation programme from institutions recognized by Malaysian Government*;
  4. Other equivalent qualifications recognised by Malaysian Government*;

English Language Requirements (For international students only)
All international students from a country in which English is not used as the medium of instruction in formal education are required to meet the following English language requirements:

  1. Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): minimum score of 550 (PBT) or 213 (CBT) or 79 – 80 (iBT)
  2. International English Language Testing System (IELTS): minimum overall Band 6.
  3. Malaysian University English Test (MUET) : minimum Band 6.

The test must be taken no more than two years before the start of your studies at Legenda.
