Foundation Studies in Information Technology

Foundation Studies in Information Technology course provides students a strong foundation in the field of Computer Science and Information Technology, offering pathways for them to continue their tertiary studies in these two areas. Students are exposed to various subjects in hardware, software, PC maintenance and operating systems basics. Students who complete their course may join the IT profession at entry level.

Upon completing a qualification at higher level, they may then work as System Support Executives/Analytical programmers who work under the guidance of System Administrators / Software Engineers.

60% examination, 40% coursework

Main Intakes
The main intakes are conducted in December (Short semester), March (Long semester) and July (Long semester) of each year.

Entry Requirements

Any one of the following qualifications:

  1. Pass SPM / SPMV / GCE ‘O’ Level with 5 credits including Mathematics;
  2. Other equivalent qualifications recognised by Malaysian Government*.

English Language Requirements (For international students only)
All international students from a country in which English is not used as the medium of instruction in formal education are required to meet the following English language requirements:

  1. Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): minimum score of 550 (PBT) or 213 (CBT) or 79 – 80 (iBT)
  2. International English Language Testing System (IELTS): minimum overall Band 6.
  3. Malaysian University English Test (MUET) : minimum Band 6.

The test must be taken no more than two years before the start of your studies at Legenda.
