Foundation in Engineering

Foundation in Engineering course serves as a foundation studies in electrical and electronic principles and specialist training for those who wish to pursue a career in electronics at the technical or engineering assistant level. Technical or engineering assistants provide good understanding of technical skills in commercial and industrial organizations. The program also covers fundamental design of electrical and electronic circuits along with simulation, analysis and lab test, which may help students to carry out investigation of circuit behaviour and performance.

The candidate will gain skills in the areas of designing, and modifying electronic circuits, designing electronic assemblies with the aid of a computer and writing and maintaining microprocessor software. Tasks also include carrying out microprocessor-interfacing installation/commissioning of electronic systems and the supervision of technicians and tradespersons

Main Intakes
The main intakes are conducted in December (Short semester), March (Long semester) and July (Long semester) of each year.

Entry Requirements

Any one of the following qualifications:

  1. Pass SPM / SPMV / GCE ‘O’ Level with minimum 5 credits including Mathematics and ONE (1) relevant Science / Technical / Vocational subject AND a pass in English;
  2. Other equivalent qualifications recognized by Malaysian Government*;

English Language Requirements (For international students only)
All international students from a country in which English is not used as the medium of instruction in formal education are required to meet the following English language requirements:

  1. Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): minimum score of 550 (PBT) or 213 (CBT) or 79 – 80 (iBT)
  2. International English Language Testing System (IELTS): minimum overall Band 6.
  3. Malaysian University English Test (MUET) : minimum Band 6.

The test must be taken no more than two years before the start of your studies at Legenda.
